Baghlava Cheesecake

You may make several layers and add them on top of each other. I made it two layers, and serve the baghlava which is heavier than cheesecake in the bottom. To keep the good shape, you may use the same cake mold.

Baghlava Recipe:

  • 1 Cup almond (soaked overnight)

  • Phyllo dough 4 sheets of phyllo pastry

  • 2 tbsp. Freshly grounded Cardemon 

  • 3 tbsp. melted butter

Wash the overnight soaked almond, and add to the food processor to be ground. Mix with cardamon. Carefully add one sheet of phyllo on top of parchment paper which is brushed with butter. Brush the sheet with melted butter and another sheet. Cover that with a mix of almond and cardamon. Cover with another layer. Brush it and add another layer. brush with butter again. It's ready for the oven. 

Cheesecake recipe:

  • 250-gram cream cheese

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2-3 sheets of the phyllo 

  • 1/2 tsp.Vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp.melted butter

Mix sugar, whole eggs, and vanilla extract in the mixer for 1-2 minutes. Add cream cheese, and mix for a couple of minutes to be hemogenic. Carefully add sheets of phyllo to the butter-brushed parchment paper.  Trim phyllo pastry around the cake mold to make a whole mixture of eggs and cheese. add the liquid part and then cover it with another 1-2 sheets. Brush with butter again. Keep it in the preheated oven to bake for 10-15 minutes. check it frequently, because it could burn easily.

Take the time to cool. 

Syrup:

  • 5 tbsp. raw honey 

  •  5 tbsp. Water rose

Mix them properly. Choose the dish to serve your cake. Put the baghlava, add the syrup to it, and put the cheesecake on top of it. You may brush the top of your cheesecake with syrup. Sprinkle the pistachio powder on top of it.
