  • 3 cups spinach

Cooking Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large pot.

  2. Simmer on low heat for 45 to 60 minutes. If you have a sensitive digestive system, consider extending the cooking time.

  3. For faster cooking, use an Instant Pot set to 15 minutes.

  5. Add spinach immediately after turning off the heat and let it cook using residual heat.

  6. For a smoother texture, blend the soup ingredients using a mixer. The longer you blend, the better the flavor.

  7. If you prefer chunky soup, chop the vegetables at the beginning, sauté them without oil, and proceed with the cooking process.

  • Lemon or lime juice, apple cider vinegar: Limit to 4-5 tablespoons per day.

  • Leafy greens: Such as spinach, parsley, coriander, dill, and chives.

  • Zucchini: Note that eggplants are not allowed.

  • Cabbage: All varieties including green, red, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.

  • Tomatoes: Including sugar-free tomato paste.

  • Carrots, celery, leeks, and various peppers, asparagus.

  • Garlic, onions, ginger, and various spices.

Additional Tips and Recommendations

  • Marinate Meat and Poultry: Soak meat and poultry in crushed tomatoes, spices, and salt for about 12 hours to enhance flavor.

  • Milk Substitutions: For Day 4, if you are sensitive to dairy, use unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk. Milk should be 0% fat!

  • Avoid Greek Yogurt: On Day 4, if you choose yogurt, avoid Greek yogurt with added proteins as it may hinder weight loss during the detox week.

  • Stick to Allowed Vegetables: Do not consume vegetables that are not listed as allowed.

  • Use Soup for Satiety: Rely on soups to keep you full throughout the week.

  • Limit Fruit Intake: On Days 1 and 3, keep fruit consumption minimal, with a maximum of three servings, each being half a cup.

  • Saltiness: Add just the right amount of salt to your soup. Like our blood, our food should have the essence of salt without being overly salty.

  • No Beef or Chicken Stock: Since these soups are plant-based and don’t include beef or chicken stock, spices should be used sparingly. Over-spicing can ruin the flavor.

  • Grilled Tomatos: Grilling the tomatoes and zucchini before adding them to your soup will enhance the flavor.

  • Cabbage as a Base: Cabbage and celery in every soup can help boost the fat-burning process. Remember to use at least one of them as a base.

Foods to Avoid During the Detox Week

  • Chicken or beef broth.

  • Legumes and grains: Such as bread and rice.

  • Dried fruits, including dates.

  • Cooking with oils or butter: Only one flat tablespoon of animal butter is allowed on Day 2 with the baked potato.

Tips for Success

  • Season your soup with the right amount of salt to bring out the flavors.

  • Avoid using beef or chicken stock; keep the soups plant-based for optimal detox benefits.

  • Grill vegetables like tomatoes and zucchini before adding them to the soup for enhanced flavor.

  • Incorporate cabbage and celery as key ingredients to help boost the fat-burning process.

This one-week detox diet is designed to help you reset your body and establish healthier eating habits. Remember to listen to your body, adjust the plan as needed, and consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new diet.
